About the Development

Nestled in a five-acre glade of Douglas fir, red cedar and arbutus trees, the 31 vacation villas at Painted Boat are carefully designed to take full advantage of this extraordinary geography.

Peter Treuheit's architectural design was influenced by Painted Boat's distinct history and natural surroundings.

"I was inspired, in part, by the vernacular fishing structures located along the coastline," says Treuheit.

"Timber pile wharfs and structures in the area gave me the architectural vocabulary to evoke an informal 'west coast' look. Selective use of exposed timber construction, expansive windows, shingle siding and generous use of natural materials blend beautifully with the magic of this forested haven. The vacation villas are sited to provide unobstructed views for everyone, while leaving open corridors through, between and over the buildings. The sculptural design of the roof is intended to blend with this natural setting as well, and to allow for stunning vistas from upland areas."

Developer Team

Ken Delf: Ken is experienced in all facets of real estate acquisition, financing and development. Over the last 20 years, he has spearheaded a wide variety of projects in Austin, Texas and Calgary, Alberta.

One of his recent and most notable projects is the prestigious StonePine, located just west of Calgary's city limits. StonePine is an exclusive enclave of 72 estate homes overlooking the Glencoe Golf Course and the Elbow River valley. It is the leading development of its kind with homes ranging in value from $1 to $4 million.

As President of Painted Boat Developments Ltd., Ken has assembled a proven team of investors and consultants who will guarantee a five star resort for all who come.

Ronaye Matthew: Ronaye, president of CDC Cohousing Development Consulting, is the Painted Boat Resort and Spa's project manager. With almost thirty years of experience in the development industry, Ronaye has developed an expertise in high quality "boutique" projects.

This critical member of the Painted Boat team is so thrilled with her latest project, she recently purchased a quarter interest and looks forward to enjoying the serenity of Painted Boat herself.

Architect

Peter Treuheit: From carpenter to contractor, from technologist to teacher, Peter has done it all. As the project leader for award-winning Mobius Architecture, Treuheit has an intimate knowledge of local landscape because this is where he has chosen to live and work. His unique connection to the Sunshine Coast ensures that the design and construction of Painted Boat Resort Spa & Marina fulfills its ultimate potential.

Dana Brash: Also a member of Mobius Architecture, Dana brings a wide range of skills to the project team. She maintains a strong presence as architectural designer, but she has also branched into the world of interior design - having established a reputation for herself in the private, business and trade communities as a colour consultant, millworker and furniture designer.

Landscape Architecture

Patricia Campbell: A partner in landscape architecture firm DMG, Patricia will lead our landscape team to enhance the already spectacular setting of this rare waterfront real estate.

Spa Designer

The best consultants have been used, notably Integrated Spa of Canmore, Alberta and Spatality - a full-service international spa operations and management company.

Pool Designer

Byron Wilson: Byron, owner and operator of Arcon Rock and Waterscapes, has designed a unique setting for Painted Boat's waterfront pool and hot tub. Built from manufactured rock, the pool looks like a naturally-created pond set amidst a rock garden that features annual and perennial flowering shrubs.
